BiK-F participates in Climate-KIC of EIT

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has announced the first Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs*) on December the 16th. From 20 submitted applications, the three applications “Climate-KIC”, “KIC InnoEnergy” and “EIT ICT Labs” have been awarded.

BiK-F is one of the players from Hesse, which is one of the regions involved as RICs (Regional Innovation Implementation Community). Further RICs: Central-Hungary, Lower Silesia (Poland), Midlands (GB), Emilia-Romagna (IT), Valencia (SP).

Further German partners (selection): Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, TU Berlin, German Research Centre for Geosciences Potsdam, TU Munich.

European partners (selection): Zurich, Imperial College, ParisTech, CEA, Météo-France, University Utrecht, University Delft and University Wageninge

*KICs are highly integrated partnerships which link excellent players from education, research and economy to strengthen the European capacity for innovation and competitiveness in the subject areas climate change, renewable energies and the future of information- and communication societies.
