Press Releases

1 Year BiK-F

For one year now there is finally an address for organismic climate impact research in Germany: on July 1st, 2008 the new Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre took up its work. It is the biggest centers sponsored by LOEWE (Hessian Initiative for scientific and economic excellence) and is devoted to decipher past and present interactions between climate change and biodiversity on the level of organisms. This way reliable projection should be developed on how biological diversity reacts to climate change and what these alterations mean to humans – and this should result in practical recommendations on how to deal with this development.
