Animals and plants jointly conduct their coexistence

Frankfurt am Main, 08/09/2018. Ecosystems are giant networks in which animal and plant species are connected by multiple relationships. This teamwork among species is of particular importance in regard to pollination of flowers and the dispersal of seeds. As shown in a study led by Senckenberg scientists, climatic conditions determine whether plant or animal species set the interaction rules in these networks. The study was recently published in the scientific journal “Nature Communications.”
