8-4: REACTION OF FOREST ECOSYSTEMS TO CLIMATE CHANGE
8-4.2: PHYSIOLOGICAL ACCLIMATION OF OAKS

Our research interests cover the effects of abiotic environmental factors on plants. Recent projects are focussed on the effects of drought and winter stress events especially on the photosynthetic apparatus of higher plants, including both deciduous and evergreen oaks (Quercus spp.) and C4 grasses. The methods applied range from field studies of photosynthesis (by gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence studies) to the molecular analysis of the structure, evolution and expression of key genes of photosynthetic pathways.
