A3.4: BIOMARKERS AND RECONSTRUCTION OF PALEOCLIMATIC CONDITIONS (2008-2011)

Research interests

• Stable isotopic carbon (δ13C) measurements of plant specific biomarkers (tricyclic diterpenoids, pentacyclic triterpenoids) in samples of a core from Dethlingen, northern Germany (Holsteinian interglacial, Pleistocene) by gas chromatography-combustion-isotopic ratio-mass spectrometry (GC-C-IR-MS).

• Interpretation of data with regard to climatic transition and changes in forest composition during the Holsteinian interglacial and comparison with data (e. g., pollen analyses) already available for the Dethlingen site.

• Environmental analytical chemistry of organic compounds.

2010 Dr. phil. nat. in Geosciences at the Institute of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, Department of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Goethe-University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Doctoral thesis: Organophosphates in precipitation, lake water, and groundwater from urban and remote areas.

Diploma thesis: Investigations of the metabolism of p-phenylenediamine (PPD) in skin  for risk exposure estimation.
