Aljoscha KressPh.D. student C4.2: Aquatic Organisms and Biocoenosis Research interests/current works - the ecological niche of the highly invasive Asian tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus (microhabitat) To pursue the research of my diploma thesis, I'm investigating the effects of multiple stressors, e.g. insecticides under climate change conditions, as well as UV-light, nutrition and inter- and intraspecific competition, on the invasive Asian tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus and the indigenous mosquito Culex pipiens molestus. Beyond this, my research focus on the cold hardiness of A. albopictus in the field, the development of cold hardiness in the laboratory and the mechanisms laying behind. Short CV Since 9/2011 PhD Student 1/2011 Diploma in Biology (Dipl. Biol.) at the department of ecotoxicology of the Goethe University Frankfurt with the topic "Interactive effects of insecticides an temperature on the invasive Asian tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus and the common indigenous mosquito Culex pipiens" 2008 – 2009 Research-semester with the topic "Suitability of the Danio rerio SeKT (sediment contact test) in the risk assessment of selected chemicals" and studies at the department of ecotoxicology of the Technical University Dresden 2003 – 2011 Studies of Biology at the Goethe University Frankfurt Contact:
