6-1.16: AQUATIC EVOLUTIONARY ECOLOGY UNDER CLIMATE CHANGE CONDITIONS

PhD Project: Niche evolution of Himalopsyche (Trichoptera: Rhyacophilidae)

The goal of my doctoral research is to understand how caddisfly species have diverged into and adapted to an alpine environment since the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The project includes DNA taxonomy of undescribed life stages, phylogenetic and biogeographical analyses, and analyses of trait evolution along altitudinal gradients. The PhD project is part of the umbrella project “Changes in organismic diversification rates with regard to the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and associated climate and vegetation changes”.
