PROJECT AREA C: ADAPTATION AND CLIMATE

In project area C we study biological processes that result from ecological or ecophysiological adaptation (acclimation), or from rapid selection within a few generations. To advance our understanding in these areas we address the following key questions:

• Can species adapt to climate change within short time spans (e.g. genetically, physiologically, through behavior)?

• Does climate change alter the genetic diversity and adaptive potential of species?

• How do communities, in composition and function, adapt to changing climate?
